The Božídarský Špičák (German Gottesgaber Spitzberg ) is the third highest mountain in the Ore Mountains with 1115 m nm . It is located in the Czech Republic in the immediate vicinity of the highest town in Central Europe, Boží Dar ( Gottesgab ).
Location and surroundings
The Spitzberg is located two kilometers southwest of Boží Dar on the plateau of the Ore Mountains in the nature reserve . To protect nature, its summit may not be entered. At the western foot of the mountain peak there is now a lookout point at the ruins of the Spitzberg houses, among which was the Zur Wunderblume inn . To the northwest lies the Myslivny reservoir on the Schwarzwasser .
geology
The Spitzberg is the highest nepheline basalt dome in Central Europe.
history
At the end of the 19th century a wooden lookout tower was built on the mountain top, the keys of which had to be borrowed from the Spitzberg houses. After just a few years, the tower had become dilapidated due to the weather and had to be removed.
view
The view from the western foot of the Spitzberg encompasses the panorama of the Ore Mountains ridge in a westerly direction between Plešivec ( Pleßberg ) and Auersberg . To the south the view opens, if trees allow it, down to the valley of the Eger .
Hiking routes
- From Boží Dar on the red marked Anton-Günther-Weg to the lookout point on the west side of the Spitzberg (approx. 4 km).
- In winter, the Erzgebirge / Krušné hory ski route leads south of the high moor past the south side of the Spitzberg towards Abertamy and Pernink .
