Anton-Günther-Weg
The Anton-Günther-Weg is a cross-border hiking trail in the upper Ore Mountains . It was inaugurated on September 16, 1995 in honor of the Erzgebirge local poet and folk singer Anton Günther . The hiking trail leads from Saxony to the Czech Republic and back. It connects numerous places of activity Günther. A full inspection requires at least two days.
The creation and signposting of the path was made possible thanks to the support of Euregio Egrensis . The initiators of the hiking trail include the former hiking supervisor of the Erzgebirgsverein , Reinhart Heppner , and Günther Adler (†) from Johanngeorgenstadt .

- Johanngeorgenstadt: Günther was particularly close friends here with the owner of the Hotel de Saxe (from 1914 Sachsenhof ), Carl Truckenbrodt , and his family. The hiking trail leads from here in an easterly direction through the district
- Wittigsthal with leasehold house up on the ridge of the

- Price house beech . This is reminiscent of the Preisshaus that stood here until 1846 and was replaced by a newly planted beech tree in 1966.

- Rittersgrün : Wettin fountain from 1889
- Tellerhäuser : once the highest Saxon village, now a district of Breitenbrunn
- Fichtelberg : highest mountain in Saxony
- Kurort Oberwiesenthal : highest town in Germany, health resort since 1936
- Klínovec (Wedge Mountain): the highest mountain in the Ore Mountains
- Neues Haus : Gasthaus in the immediate vicinity of the border, where Anton Günther sang his guitar songs several times
- Boží Dar (Gottesgab): Günther's place of birth and death with a memorial on the market square, Günther's house and his grave in the cemetery
- Plešivec (Pleßberg): 1028 m high mountain with a lookout tower, which allows a comprehensive panoramic view of the upper Ore Mountains and the ridge plateau
- Abertamy (Abertham): former mountain town and later glove-making town
- Blatenský vrch (Plattenberg): 1043 m high mountain with a lookout tower and a panoramic view of the Upper Ore Mountains and the Schwarzwassertal, on the mountainside in the direction of Horní Blatná the Eis- and Wolfsbinge , two relics of the mining past of the Upper Ore Mountains
- Horní Blatná (mining town Platten): 1532 planned mining town from the 16th century with rail connection to Johanngeorgenstadt and Karlsbad
- Dreckschänke : a former inn that has existed since 1835, well known for Günther's song from 1904
- Potůčky (Breitenbach): Czech municipality on the border with Saxony, experienced an unexpected boom when the border opened due to countless traders
- Anton-Günther-Höhe: the summit of a former mining dump named in honor of Günther. In 1995, memorial stones with memorial plates for Günther and Hans Soph , a refuge and benches were set up here, which were completely destroyed by vandalism only a few years later. The memorial stones were set up at the horse peg in 2011.
