Heavenly Meadow
The Himmelswiese is a surface natural monument (FND) south of Breitenbrunn / Erzgeb. and east of Johanngeorgenstadt in the Erzgebirgskreis .

The Himmelswiese is located at an altitude of about 915 m directly on the border with the Czech Republic . It is located on Joachimsthaler Straße, which is closed to public vehicle traffic, which leads from Breitenbrunn as Halbemeiler Straße in a south-easterly direction to the Halbemeile district . The hiking border crossing to Potůčky in the Czech Republic is located directly on the Himmelswiese . From here you can, for example, Ausflugsgaststätte "Red fox" in Podlesí ( armed soaps visit).

The meadows in the vicinity of Halbemeile are exceptionally rich in species, as there is usually no grazing. The Himmelswiese belongs to the plant community of Bärwurz-Goldhafer-Wiesen and is under nature protection . Here come u. a. in front:

Due to the quiet location far from traffic noise, there are also a lot of animal species at home. Especially from the Czech side, red deer are relatively common on the Himmelswiese. Numerous butterflies and insects can be seen on the meadow in the summer months.
