The stiffness Augentrost ( Euphrasia stricta ) is a plant type from the genus Augentrost ( Euphrasia ) in the family of broomrape plants (Orobanchaceae).
description
Eyebright is a semi-parasitic plant that is 5 to 30 cm tall . The entire plant is often dark burgundy in color. It is particularly noticeable because of the upright side branches and the upright to close-fitting cover leaves . The bracts have a wedge-shaped base, are covered on both sides with four to six teeth, which in turn often have a dark red awn. Both cover sheets as well as the stems standing leaves are hairless, occasionally also the edge is hairy short.
The inflorescences are terminal after at least five internodes . The crown is purple or white in color and usually 7 to 10 mm long.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 44.
Occurrence
The species occurs in Europe and Western Asia. It grows on semi-arid grassland, poor grassland and along roadsides at heights of up to 1700 m. It prefers fresh to dry, nutrient-poor soils. It occurs in societies of the Mesobromion association as well as the order Nardetalia.
