The Gotthardreuss is a 9.1 kilometer long mountain stream in the Swiss cantons of Ticino and Uri , which flows into the Furkareuss and thus forms the actual Reuss .

The Gotthardreuss rises at the northern foot of the Lucendropass in the canton of Ticino. After a few kilometers, it crosses the border with the canton of Uri and follows the old Gotthard road to the mouth at Hospental . The Gotthardreuss, which is rich in fish, drains an area of ​​32.6 square kilometers.

On its way, the Gotthardreuss is spanned by 13 bridges, ie ten road and field bridges, a railway bridge, a pedestrian bridge and a works footbridge.

Three historical stone arch bridges cross the river, two in Hospental (village bridge from 1681 and artificial road bridge from 1829) and one in Airolo (Ponte di Lucendro from 1883 on the old Gotthard pass road).
