The Erzgebirge / Krušné hory ski artery is a long-distance skiing trail along the entire length of the Erzgebirge ridge between Schöneck / Vogtl. and Altenberg .

course

The ridge trail , which runs exclusively on Saxon territory, runs from Schöneck in the Vogtland via Mühlleithen to Johanngeorgenstadt in the western Ore Mountains .

Then the route is marked as the ski artery SM. This ski hiking trail, which runs alternately on Czech and German territory over the entire ridge of the Ore Mountains, leads via Pernink , Boží Dar ( Gottesgab ), Kovářská , the Hirtstein , Rübenau , Hora Svaté Kateřiny ( Sankt Katharinaberg ) and Seiffen / Erzgeb. to Deutschgeorgenthal in the Eastern Ore Mountains .

From there, the third section is the Osterzgebirgsloipe via Teichhaus and Neurehefeld to the mountain town of Altenberg .

Officially, this cross-border ski hiking trail is a good example of cooperation between neighboring Czech and German communities for the common tourist use of the Ore Mountains.

In reality, larger sections of the ski corridor are poorly marked or completely without any signage. Due to a lack of coordination with the Czech authorities, there is also an overlap with the Krušnohorská lyžařská magistrála (KLM), a long-distance ski trail in the Czech Republic that has existed since the 1970s.
