history
The oldest district is Zaunhaus. In 1550 reference was made to a hunter's house and a little later to three other houses. In 1557 a mill was built.
The place Rehefeld was later founded under the name Sorgefrey in the Altenberg office . An upper raft master Henry of Romans bought the mill in 1606 and the Vorwerk Sorgenfrey . Later lumberjacks settled in a clearing near the Vorwerk. The hunting lodge located there was a Christmas present from Crown Princess Carola of Saxony to her husband, Crown Prince Albert of Saxony , in 1869 .
Neurehefeld, located on the Hemmschuh , was built after 1683 and is located by the escort house , which stood on the important connecting road from Hermsdorf through the Hemmschuhwald , the old Freiberg-Teplitzer Poststrasse . Today nine people live here.
Two royal Saxon milestones from the time of 1859/1860 on the old Poststrasse (Abzweigstein and Ganzmeilenstein) in the Hemmschuhwald near Neurehefeld were restored in 2005 and re-erected in 2012.
Rehefeld-Zaunhaus has been part of the city of Altenberg since January 1st, 1994.
