Neuhermsdorf is a place in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains . The larger western part belongs to Hermsdorf / Erzgeb. ( Postcode 01776), the smaller eastern part to Altenberg (Postcode 01773). The place arose due to further settlements in the vicinity of the customs post Hermsdorf.

In Neuhermsdorf there is the former "customs house", which today houses a hotel. There is also the disused Hermsdorf-Rehefeld station , the last station on the Nossen – Moldau railway line on the German side in the Hirschbachtal.

On December 31, 2018, eleven people lived in the Altenberg part of Neuhermsdorf.
