history

The Waldhufendorf is first mentioned in 1445 as Zeyda . In the 16th century, the manor of the village with 8 possessed men and 45 residents was at the Frauenstein manor . The village jurisdiction was fulfilled by the local inheritance court .

From 1816 the place belonged entirely to the Frauenstein office, from 1875 to the Dippoldiswalde administrative authority , then to the Dippoldiswalde district .

In 1824 August Schumann mentions Seyde in the State, Post and Newspaper Lexicon of Saxony concerning a. a:

“Otherwise belonged to the Frauenstein rule, half of it, as far as it is to the right of the Weißeritz, was sold to Johann Georg I as early as 1620 with the adjoining forests and given the office of Altenberg; the rest came with the Frauenstein office, which was formed from the rule, which was fully purchased in 1647. [...]
Seyda has about 60 houses with around 300 inhabitants [...] a hereditary dish with significant guest food and 1½ Freihufen, in Altenberger Antheil 11 quarter huefers, but for Frauensteiner (who had 20 houses in 1748, but 25 houses in 1801) 9  Hufen , one Grinder and Bretmühle on Altenberger side u. s. w. Incidentally, the houses are very widely scattered, and some have their fields around them. "

At the beginning of the 20th century, a railway connection was planned using the narrow-gauge Pöbeltalbahn , which was supposed to cross the dam of the planned Seyde dam near the Wilden Weißeritz .

On March 1, 1994 Seyde was moved to Hermsdorf / Erzgeb. incorporated.
