The Sapporo TV tower ( Japanese さ っ ぽ ろ テ レ ビ 塔 , Sapporo-terebi-tō ) is a 147.2 meter high transmission tower with a viewing platform at 90.38 meters that is open to tourists. It is located in the Japanese city of Sapporo on the island of Hokkaido . The steel frame construction tower was built in 1957.
