Spielwang

Spielwang is a place in the Traunstein district , belongs to the municipality of Vachendorf and is a member of the Bergen administrative community .

The name of the place could already be of Roman origin (Romanesque identifier spina = thorn bush ) and refers to its origin before the 10th century. The part of the name -wang indicates a cultivation area in a nearby village, here Vachendorf.

Spielwang is located between the center of Vachendorf and Mühlen in the planning region of southeast Upper Bavaria in Chiemgau and is part of the municipality of Vachendorf. To the west of Spielwang is the Tüttensee, about three kilometers away, and to the south is the federal motorway 8 and the foothills of the Alps .

Spielwang ( Spindelwanc ) was mentioned as a hamlet as early as 1156 .

Around 1804 there were six houses in Spielwang, including a forge.

Around 1825, four families with 38 people lived in seven houses in the village of Spielwang.

In 1869 there was also a cheese dairy .

Spielwang currently consists of around 20 houses and three farms.

In Spielwang there is a former forge and a former farmhouse, which are on the list of architectural monuments of the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments.
