Spindle position display

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Spindle position displays are devices for recording the revolutions on a threaded spindle , as often occurs on machines. There are both mechanical and electronic versions. The mechanical devices usually work with so-called number rollers, which must be adapted to the respective spindle pitch.

Different scanning systems can be used for the electronic variants. Often these are magnetic or optical signal processing.

The advantages of the electronic devices lie in the networking of the devices with each other. Due to the networking, almost any number of devices can be controlled via a master . The management of many set spindles, e.g. B. on a woodworking machine, can thus be simplified.
