Spinner bridge
Spinnerbrücke is the nickname for the Spanische-Allee-Brücke, which in the Berlin district of Nikolassee represents the crossing of the AVUS from Spanische Allee at junction 3 of the federal freeway 115 . The restaurant of the same name, located directly on the bridge, is a motorcycle meeting point that is known beyond the borders of Berlin. The bridge is in the immediate vicinity of the Grunewald service area, the Nikolassee S-Bahn station and the access to the Wannsee lido .
There are various theories about the origin of the name. One goes back to the fact that the bridge has developed into a meeting place for motorcycle enthusiasts , who locals like to call “crazy” . Another theory says that after the AVUS was established in 1921, many “technology nuts” spent hours watching the cars and motorcycles driving there.
