Berolinism
As Berolinismus or Berlinismus one of which is Berlin slang or the Berlin vernacular originating or phrase referred. These include nicknames for certain buildings and names for typical Berlin habits.
Nicknames
Many Berlin nicknames are known far beyond the borders of Berlin, and the Berlin vernacular is interspersed with these nicknames, whereby there are discussions about a number of terms for buildings about whether they actually belong to the Berlin vernacular or rather from various tourist guides to the Berlin vernacular Be "pushed under".
As with all nicknames ( pointed in the 17th century : 'hurtful'), they are mostly mock names that give a short substitute name for the real name that results from the characteristics of the thing or person. The everyday language of Berlinish is said to have a comparatively gruff manner and is fairly free to use mock names. This is often also of tourist guides and travel literature hawked ; in fact, this is probably a legend. In everyday life, the television tower ("Telespargel") and the radio tower ("Langer Lulatsch") are called just like that, namely in their official form. The alternative names are mostly used ironically to show journalistic closeness to the people or to impress tourists with the "joke" of Berliners. A counterexample is the beer brush , which is rarely given the public name "Turmrestaurant Steglitz" or "Turmrestaurant on Schloßstraße".
Many pointed names are strongly time-related. However, since real and alleged nicknames are mainly used by the media to produce a local Berlin flavor, some very strange names can be understood by Berliners, at least at times, even without further reference to sentences. However, the functional names predominate in common parlance.
