A needle-nose pliers , needle nose pliers or cranesbill forceps is a pliers combined, the most the following features:

  • The tip tapers conically, the cross-section is roughly a semicircle
  • The gripping surface is straight and for grasping objects roughened ( bat similar to a file).
  • Often the pliers are combined with a cutting edge that can be used in a similar way to a side cutter
  • The tip of the front third of the two jaws can be angled by approx. 40 °

Due to the tapering shape, small openings can also be reached. Needle-nose pliers are also supplied with electrically insulated handles in accordance with relevant standards, e.g. B. IEC 60900.
