The collecting of money is combined with a social occasion and makes use of the athletic ambition and the network of relationships of the runners.

The principle

Before the run, the runners look for as many sponsors as possible among acquaintances who promise a fixed amount of money for every kilometer or lap they cover during the specified running time (usually two hours). The runners then try to complete as many laps as possible so that the project or organization receives a corresponding amount of money.

Different types of sport ( swimming , cross-country skiing , inline skating , etc.), different venues and running courses and different running times are possible as variants .
