Spoorijzer NV , or SIJ for NV Spoorwegmaterieel en IJzerconstructie , was a manufacturer of narrow-gauge railways in Delft , the Netherlands .

history

On November 4th, 1912, JC Goudriaan's Industrie- en Exportmaatschappij was founded.

The company built around 100 rail tractors in the 1950s , which were used in brickworks, among other places, to replace horses. A total of about 160 narrow-gauge locomotives and beyond many were Loren built. The last SIJ buildings were closed in 1977 after several business takeovers.
