Sports (TV channel)
Sport ( Russian Спорт , also RTR-Sport / РТР-Спорт ) was a television station in Russia until December 31, 2009 .
The station belonged to the RTR group within the state media group WGTRK . He broadcast a special-interest sports program comparable to the German-language channels Sport1 or Eurosport . In terms of audience share, Sport in Russia was the second largest special interest broadcaster, behind Kultura, in ninth place of all television stations.
On September 30, 2009, the WGTRK management announced that the station would be discontinued at the beginning of 2010. Its frequency was occupied by a new universal television station called Rossiya 2 . The range of sports programs and transmissions should not be affected by the discontinuation of the sports channel.
