Sportfreunde Üdingen (officially: Sportfreunde Üdingen 1912 eV ) is a sports club from the Kreuzau district of Üdingen in the Düren district . The first soccer team played for a year in the highest amateur league in the Middle Rhine region.
history
The association was founded in 1912. In 1927 the Sportfreunde merged with the BSC Boich to form the Sportfreunde Üdingen-Boich . Six years later, the merger was resolved again. After the end of the Second World War , the Üdinger became the first Düren district champion and qualified for the first-class Rhine district league at the time . In 1948 the team went back down to the district class before the Sportfreunde managed to get promoted again. In 1951 it went back down to the district class.
The club then formed the SG Ruhrtal Üdingen-Maubauch game community together with FC Fortuna Maubach, which was founded in 1910, and in 1953 managed to return to the district class. After only a year it went down again. The direct resurgence was missed in the promotion round, where the Üdingener failed at SpVgg Hurst-Rosbach . The syndicate was later dissolved. In the following decades, sports fans only played on a local level. Sportfreunde Üdingen and FC Fortuna Maubach have formed the SG Rurtal 1996 syndicate since 1996 . Between 2013 and 2017 this plays in the district league C.
In the 2016/2017 season, as the best second (across all C-seasons in the Düren district) with 75 points (92:17 goals), they managed the surprising promotion to the district league B. During this season, they scored 24 in a total of 28 games Wins and 3 draws with only one defeat against the eventual champions. They remained unbeaten in all 14 home games and scored 13 wins with 49: 9 goals. The coaching team Michael "Ben" Blens and Nino "Pelle" Pelzer and their team gave the game community one of the best seasons ever.
The following season 2017/2018 in the district league B was the SG as a relegation candidate no. 1 traded. The start with 6 defeats and one draw did not initially suggest anything promising. However, the team around the leading coaching duo -Blens / Pelzer- never gave up and, thanks to 9 wins and 6 draws, was able to secure relegation early on with 33 points. In the end there was a respectable and acclaimed 9th place in the table (9/6/15, 55: 75, second best season of the SG Rurtal).
The SG Rurtal currently occupies 10th place in the table in the district league B 3 with 31 points (10/1/12, 38:57)
