Speaking stable master in Circo Atayde in Mexico

The speaking stable master , alternatively also called ring master , is a traditional figure in the circus .

description

The speaking stable master acts as an announcer and director during a circus performance, guiding the audience through the event, similar to a moderator. He also serves as a link between artists and audience. Furthermore, the speaking stable master often represents the counterpart to the nature of the circus clowns , especially the "stupid August" , as he is involved in the mostly humorous and chaotic performances of the clowns as a disciplined and orderly personality.

International names

The German-language designation speaking stable master was adopted unchanged in the Danish language . In the English-speaking world, the position is referred to as ringmaster , which relates directly to the circus ( Latin circus : "circle", "ring") or the shape of the ring . In the French vocabulary, the speaking stable master is referred to as Monsieur Loyal . The namesake of this name is the Loyal circus family, which is one of the most traditional French families in the circus business and from whose ancestors the figure of the parlor master should come.

Others

In series 2 of the miniature figures from the Danish toy manufacturer Lego , a stable master figure appeared.
