A spreader bar is used in BDSM to restrain the hands or feet of bottoms .

It consists of two metal rings or leather cuffs connected to one another by a rod, which are placed around the wrists or ankles.

Some models are adjustable in the length of the rod and can thus be individually adapted. In some cases, adaptable additional rods can be attached, which establish a connection to the collar of the bottom or are used for vaginal or anal penetration using a dildo . While some variants have attachment options in the form of eyelets, only a few models are so massive that they can be used as part of a suspension bondage .
