Jump (ship deck)

As a jump that is curvature of the deck of a ship called on its longitudinal axis.

cases

A distinction is made between three cases:

  • If the deck line is concave, i.e. the bow and stern are higher than the middle section, this is called a positive jump .
  • If the deck line is convex, i.e. the bow and stern are lower than the middle section, this is called a negative jump .
  • If the deck line runs horizontally, i.e. the bow and stern are at the same height as the middle section, the deck has no crack .
