Spyderco is an American manufacturer of knives and accessories; the production facilities are located in Japan, Italy, China, Taiwan and the USA. The company's headquarters are in Golden, Colorado .

Spyderco especially manufactures high quality knives with both fixed blades and folding knives . Various models are also used professionally internationally, e.g. B. in the police and military. The characteristic feature of the folding knife is a large round hole in the blade . With the help of this hole, the knife can be opened quickly with the thumb of the leading hand.

Most knives from this manufacturer also have a clip. Spyderco was the first manufacturer to clip its folding knives in 1981. The clip is used to carry the knife on clothing or on your trouser belt so that you can pull it out very quickly if necessary. The resulting carrying positions of the knife when closed are called tip-down (English for "tip down") or tip-up (English for "tip up").

The company logo of Spyderco is a stylized spider who is usually lasered on blade or handle.

The Spyderco knife Harpy became internationally known through a very brutal scene in the film Hannibal , in which it was used by the fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter .
