The München Klinik gGmbH , based at Thalkirchner Strasse 48 in Munich , was originally founded as Städtisches Klinikum München GmbH on January 1, 2005 based on the Munich City Council resolution of March 17, 2004 to merge the city hospitals and various facilities into one company . The city of Munich is the sole shareholder of the non-profit GmbH . The Munich Clinic has the following locations:

Former areas

  • Blood Donation Service Munich (the former "Official Blood Donation Service of the City of Munich") was closed on March 31, 2016
  • Textilservice (the former central laundry) was closed on June 30, 2013

The company is headed by a three-person management team. Today, the company has a total of 3500 beds, 260 day clinics and 8500 employees, treats around a third of all patients in the greater Munich area, making it the largest provider of health services in southern Germany. At the end of 2013, then Lord Mayor Christian Ude restricted the influence of the managing directors by introducing a steering committee that helped to decide on the renovation of the financially troubled clinic.
