history

Willi Stünings founded the publishing house in 1929. In 1946 the advertising paper “Wistü-Werbung-Markt” appeared. In 1948 the magazine "Wistü-Motor Vehicle Market" followed (today: " KFZ-Anzeiger "). In 1950 the city guide "Stadtkompass Krefeld" and in 1952 the magazine "Bus-Fahrt" appeared. 1956 came the magazine "Wirtschafts-Nachrichten", 1961 the travel guide "Links + Rechts der Autobahn" (from 2019: "Autobahn-Guide"), 1964 the magazine "Mot-Bau" (discontinued in 2018) and 1969 the travel guide "Reise- Service ”. After Willi Stüning's death, Ingrid and Lothar Neumann took over the publishing house in 1970. In 1973 the travel guide “Bus Destinations” appeared. In 1980 Volker Neumann developed the photo typesetting studio into an advertising agency with its own print shop. In 1984 a film and video studio was set up and the first online offers via Btx were published. 1987 was the foundation of the Stünings advertising agency and advertising technology GmbH + Co. KG. In 1991 a 5-color printing machine was purchased. In 1994 the city guide "Krefeld life" was published. In 1995 the company created the internet portal www.stuenings.de.

In 1997, the company moved to the newly built "House of Media" in Krefeld with its own printing center. The magazine “NFZ-Werkstatt” appeared in the same year. In 2000, Volker Neumann and Petra Neumann took over the management of the Stünings Group. Also in 2000 the internet guide “Click” appeared. In 2003 the companies were merged to form "Stünings Medien GmbH". In 2005 the “Trailer Journal” buying guide was published. In 2007 the printing center was renewed with a new 10-color printing machine and the first digital printing machine. Today Stünings Medien is the largest printing company in Krefeld. After Ingrid Neumann's death, Volker, Petra and Lothar Neumann continued to run Stünings Medien GmbH from 2008. In the same year the series “Restaurant Bonus Book” and the travel guide “Club Goals” were published. Stünings Medien has been developing and selling digital tools since 2009. With the digital platform “DataFactory”, text, image and article data are collected in a structured manner in a media-neutral database. A wide variety of media can be produced on this basis: flyers, leaflets, catalogs, brochures, but also complex Internet solutions with web shops and "consultant tools" as well as digital exchange formats. In this way, numerous work steps previously required can be automated. At the beginning of 2014 there was a change in the management: Volker Neumann and his son Florian Neumann have been managing directors since then.
