These were in particular the Huguenot Wars (1562–1598). A few decades later the Fronde (1648–1653), u. a. thus also the wars against Spain (1635–1659) and against the Habsburgs; parallel to this the other major conflicts, in particular the Eighty Years War (1568–1648) and the Thirty Years War (1618–1648).
