St. Casimir Church

St. Casimir (lit. Aleksoto Šv. Kazimiero bažnyčia ) is the Catholic church in Aleksotas , a district of Kaunas , Lithuania , and belongs to the diocese of Vilkaviškis . It is named after St. Casimir .

Today's church was built after Lithuania regained independence in the 1990s and is particularly striking because of its octagonal crown. It replaced a wooden church in the folk baroque style , which was built in 1921 under the direction of the priest Juozas Vyšniauskas.
