St. George's Cathedral (also Freetown Cathedral ) is the Anglican cathedral in Freetown in Sierra Leone . It is the bishopric and headquarters of the Diocese of Freetown , which is part of the Church of the Province of West Africa .

Construction of the church began in 1817 and was completed in 1828.
