Willi Schönfelder

Willi Schönfelder (born October 31, 1918 in Niklasdorf / Silesia; † September 18, 2011 in Zeven) was a local politician in Zeven who was made an honorary citizen of the city of Zeven on March 16, 2005 for his services to the common good .

Life

Willi Schönfelder was a trained printer and served as a soldier in World War II .

On April 2, 1946, Schönfelder came to Zeven as a result of the World War, where he campaigned as a local politician for the interests of the city and the Zeven municipality from 1964 to 1991 . The Social Democrat was a member of the Zeven City Council from 1964 to 1991. From 1974 to 1986 he was a member of the council of the Zeven municipality. During this time he has participated in various specialist committees. From 1974 to 1991, the trained printer was spokesman for the SPD in Zeven. From 1967 to 1976 he also exercised the function of arbitrator . For several years he was a member of the district council.

From 1964 to 1991 Willi Schönfelder was a member of the works committee of Stadtwerke Zeven, which he headed from 1968 to 1972 and 1986 to 1991. From 1974 to 1986 he was involved in the matters of the waterworks of the Zeven municipality. From 1973 to 1981 he worked as an honorary judge at the Stade Administrative Court and from 1981 to 1985 as an honorary judge at the Lüneburg Higher Administrative Court .

The committed trade unionist - who was one of the co-founders of the local CDU - only joined the SPD in 1963 after the party had opened up with the Godesberg program . He was chairman of the local SPD association and chairman of the Bremervörde district association and, after the regional reform, chairman of the Rotenburg / Wümme district association. In June 2010 he received the letter of honor from the SPD and the Willy Brandt Medal for special services to German social democracy.
