The joint municipality Zeven is a joint municipality in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) in Lower Saxony . Four municipalities have come together in it to carry out their administrative business. The administrative seat of the joint municipality is located in the city of Zeven .

Joint council

The council of the Zeven municipality consists of 34 councilors. This is the specified number for a municipality with a population between 20,001 and 25,000. The 34 council members are elected by local elections for five years each. The current term of office began on November 1, 2016 and ends on October 31, 2021.

The full-time Mayor of the Joint Community, Henning Fricke (SPD), is also entitled to vote in the Council of the Joint Community.

Joint mayor of the municipality

Henning Fricke (SPD) is the full-time mayor of the entire municipality of Zeven. In the mayoral election on February 10, 2019, he was elected with 50.14% of the vote and prevailed against his two competitors Dirk Glaß (independent) and Norbert Wolf (CDU). Henning Fricke took up his post on March 18, 2019, replacing the previous incumbent Jürgen Husemann (non-party), who was no longer a candidate.
