The Zevener Geest is located in the Elbe-Weser triangle between the cities of Hamburg , Bremen and Bremerhaven . It extends between Sottrum , Bremervörde , Stade , Buxtehude , Tostedt , Scheeßel and Rotenburg (Wümme) . It borders in the north on the Alte Land , in the east on the Black Mountains , in the south on the Wümmen lowlands , in the west on the Hamme-Oste lowlands with the Teufelsmoor and in the north-west on the Wesermünder Geest .

Natural structure

The natural spatial main unit of the Zevener Geest is part of the main unit group Stader Geest (number 63, two-digit) within the North German lowlands (large region 1st order).

In the north the main unit group Untere Elbeniederung (number 67), in the east the Black Mountains (640.00), in the south the main unit Wümmeniederung (631) and in the west the main unit Hamme-Oste-Niederung (632) limit the Zevener Geest. It is crossed by the Este , Aue , Schwinge and Oste tributaries of the Elbe . The Wörpe river also has its source in the south .
