Elaine Thomson

Elaine Thomson (* 1957 in Inverness ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labor Party . She attended Aberdeen High School for Girls , then studied pure science at Aberdeen University and graduated with a bachelor's degree . She then worked in the petrochemical industry.

Political career

In 1994 Thomson stood for election to the Grampian Regional Council, but was not elected. She also missed a seat on Aberdeen City Council , for which she ran in 1995. In the first Scottish general election in 1999, Thomson first ran for national elections. In her constituency of Aberdeen North she received the largest share of the vote and subsequently moved into the newly created Scottish Parliament . In the parliamentary elections in 2003 Thomson lost her mandate to the SNP politician Brian Adam and left parliament. In the parliamentary elections in 2007 she tried to win back the direct mandate, but failed. At the 2011 parliamentary elections she has not raced for more.
