Formation of the integrated community
Due to the constantly increasing demands on administrative tasks, pressure to reform arose in the small, voluntarily administered communities as early as the 1950s. The first main statute of the Sottrum community came into force on June 30, 1969.
On December 29, 1970, the Horstedt community declared its accession to the joint community. When the law on the reorganization of the communities in the Rotenburg (Wümme) area came into force on March 1, 1974, the communities Ahausen and Eversen were added. The already existing joint municipality of Sottrum was placed under the new law at this time.
