Fintau and Ruschwede , which unite to the west of Vahlde to form Fintau, flow through the village . In addition to the main town Vahlde, the town also includes the towns of Benkeloh and Riepe. The place is mainly agricultural and is embedded in an attractive landscape.

Community structure

The three districts are located in two politically separate areas. In the southern part are the main town Vahlde and the village Benkeloh . The district of Riepe is an exclave to the north, separated from the rest of the municipality by the municipality of Lauenbrück .

history

Local history

In 1180 Vahlde was first mentioned as Valentlo in a document from the Bishop of Verden . Vahlde and the districts of Benkeloh and Riepe were part of the Scheeßler parish until 1940 and have been part of the parish of Fintel since then. Until 1973 the place had a village school.

Incorporations

In 1970, Vahlde became a member of the joint municipality of Fintel through a voluntary union with four other municipalities.
