The Holy Cross Church was built from field stones and dates from 1804. In earlier times the village was a place of pilgrimage. The church's Furtwängler organ has around 2700 pipes, two manuals and a pedal, a total of 17 registers with two couplers .
At the church there is a war memorial for the citizens of Brockel who fought in the wars of 1864 , 1866 and 1870/1871 . It was created before 1912 by the architect Emil Högg and the Bremen sculptor Hermann Lüdecke .
