history
Until the community reform in the 1920s, Wensebrock was an independent community. References to the beginnings of the place come from the 16th century. The part of the name "-brock" indicates a boggy past.
According to the Statistical Handbook for the Kingdom of Hanover from 1848, Wensebrock was parish at the time alongside Trochel, Stelle, Bothel, Hemßlingen, Bellen and Söhlingen at Brockel (Grand Duke of Oldenburg), inspection of Rotenburg.
