Westerwalsede is located west of Kirchwalsede (hence the name Wester) in a northwestern branch of the Achim-Verdener Geest belonging to the Stader Geest .

history

According to ancient traditions, the Germanic god Wotan had his forest seat in Werdanske, today's Westerwalsede.

Westerwalsede was first mentioned in a document around 1230 in Verden Cathedral . The district of Süderwalsede was national winner in 1981 in the competition Our village should be more beautiful (today our village has a future ).

Westerwalsede is on the Verden – Rotenburg railway line and has an operating station here . The trains don't stop here for getting on and off. Local public transport is insufficiently developed and is served by the " Weser-Ems-Bus " buses.
