Companies

Edible mushrooms have been grown in Helvesiek since 1996. The Pilzgarten GmbH located here is the largest producer of fine mushrooms in Germany.

Public facilities

The Rotenburg (Wümme) district has been operating a waste disposal facility in the Rehr district since 1978. No household waste has been disposed of there since 2014. The facility continues to dispose of and process green waste and accepts any other type of material free of charge or for a fee. There is also a volunteer fire brigade in Helvesiek.

There is a kindergarten in Helvesiek. Students go to educational institutions in neighboring communities.

traffic

There are no major traffic routes in the community. It is crossed by the district road 226 and the country road 130 and with the K 212 starting here it has a feeder to the federal road 75 in the neighboring community of Lauenbrück.
