The Catholic parish church of St. Hubertus is located on Hubertusstrasse in the Bergheim district of Kenten , in the district town of Bergheim .

history

On December 12, 1954, the foundation stone of the church building was laid in the simple style of the 1950s according to plans by the Aachen architects FW Bertram and Elmar Lang and it was consecrated on December 18, 1955.

A number of artists were brought in to decorate the church, including Ewald Mataré , who created the portal, church tower and tabernacle. The parish church of St. Hubertus received the patronage of the previous church, consecrated in 1722 and resigned from the 1967th Today a memorial stone commemorates them.

The portal consists of a double-leaf door, the fixed side parts and a so-called over- port . The medallions attached to the door elements show predominantly Christian motifs, but also symbols and symbols of luck that ward off evil.
