St. John

The Protestant village church of St. Johannes is located in the Rottleben district of the Kyffhäuserland community in the Kyffhäuserkreis in Thuringia .

history

The village church, which is in good condition, is to be built in the 12th / 13th Century. The oldest document can be traced back to 1319. From 1740 to 1741 there was a thorough renovation, combined with a redesign. Details of this have not been passed down.

On April 9, 1945 by bombs around the house of God by American bombers the church were dropped, severely damaged and the organ completely destroyed. The parish began building, renovating and redesigning the church from 1946 to 1950. However, there were construction defects due to post-war material in the roof structure . 1964 to 1970 these deficiencies were compensated for by a new remodeling and renovation .

In 1970 the church was inaugurated with a cantata .
