The St. Joseph's Church is a Roman Catholic church in the town of Opole in the district Szczepanowice in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Opole .

history

Initial efforts to build a church for the villages of Szczepanowitz, Vogtsdorf and Winau go back to the 19th century.

The realization of a church could only be implemented by the pastor of the Holy Cross Church Josef Kubis in Opole. Under the architect Arthur Kickton from Potsdam , construction of the church began in spring 1928 and was completed in 1929. In the same year the independent parish was founded. On October 6, 1929, the church was consecrated to Saint Joseph , the patron saint of workers, in the presence of Wroclaw Bishop Adolf Bertram . The first pastor of the parish was Karol Tokarz, who held the office until 1975.

In 1931 the rectory was built on the neighboring property. At the end of the 1990s, the technology inside the church was modernized and renewed. In 2004 a new modern old people's home was built on the property next to the church.
