Order of St. Catherine
The Order of St. Catherine was a decoration for female nurses in the Kingdom of Great Britain. The founder was Queen Victoria . The order has been named after St. Catherine of Alexandria and should also honor the same name, but also the oldest hospital. The chosen ones were honored especially for the fulfillment of duties and teaching activities in the nursing service.
The award consisted of an oval that was attached to the left sleeve. The center of the oval was enameled white and had a wide green border with a gold border. In the middle were the initials "St. K." in raised golden letters.
The award was linked to an extra income of 50 lire over three years.
