Parish Church of St. Maria Magdalena

St. Maria Magdalena in Roxheim (Rhineland-Palatinate) was built in the years 1833/34 by Johann Bernhard Spatz in the classical style. The parish church belonging to the diocese of Speyer has 510 seats.

history

The church, built in 1833, was expanded in 1865 to include a three-sided choir with a sacristy. In 1953 Albert Boßlet added a transept and an apse.

The interior of the church was renovated in 1975 and the exterior in 1986.

Another interior renovation took place in 2004. The choir was redesigned by the sculptor Ernst Rasche . In 2010 the church received a Way of the Cross, designed by the painter Father Meinrad Dufner, Münsterschwarzach Monastery and the sculptor Thomas Reuter, Winterhausen. In 2011 the organ was expanded.

The organ was built in 1979 by Orgelbau Kuhn from Esthal / Pfalz as Opus 1. 34 registers can be heard above Hauptwerk, Schwellwerk and Rückpositiv, with some wooden pipes taken from the previous Walcker organ.
