St. Nikolaus (Niederheldenstein)

The Filialkirche St. Nikolaus is the Catholic village church of Niederheldenstein , a district of the municipality of Heldenstein (Upper Bavaria).

history

The church that exists today was built in the 17th century on the remains of a previous late Romanesque building.

description

A tower with an onion dome is in front of the small hall with a retracted rectangular choir .

The decor of the simple building includes a painted wooden figure about 110 centimeters high that depicts the risen Christ. The very manual work was created around 1530.
