St. Pius in Lippstadt

The Catholic Church of St. Pius is a church building in Lippstadt , in the Soest district , in North Rhine-Westphalia . It is named after Pope Pius X.

history

The building was built between 1968 and 1969. The foundation stone was laid on September 22, 1968 and the church was consecrated on June 22, 1969. The building was erected in a concrete or reinforced concrete construction, whereby the roof consists of a steel girder construction with a wooden interior cladding.

The interior has an irregular, semicircular floor plan with the sanctuary in the center. Since the floor has a slight slope inwards, there is a good view of the sanctuary from all 500 seats and a correspondingly balanced sound distribution. The dome is provided with windows all around at a height of approx. 12 meters, which shows itself in an open and light-flooded ambience.

organ

The organ was built between 1969 and 1970 and was consecrated on March 8, 1970. After extensive renovation, it was inaugurated again in 2010 with an organ vesper.

Bells

The St. Pius Church has a 3-part bell with the tones es ′ - g ′ - b ′
