The Sumqayit State University ( Azerbaijani : Sumqayıt Dövlət Universiteti ) is a university in the Azerbaijani town Sumqayıt .
history
Originally a branch of the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy founded in 1961 , the institution became independent in 1992 as the "Azerbaijani Industrial Institute" and in 2000 was renamed the State University.
