The State University of Vanadzor is a state-supported university based in Vanadzor in the Lori province in the north of the Republic of Armenia . The university was founded in 1969 and emerged from a Yerevan pedagogical correspondence school. It was initially called the Kirovakan State Pedagogical Institute , after the city was renamed the Vanadzor State Pedagogical Institute . Since 2014 it has had the full title of Vanadzor State University " Howhannes Tumanjan " .
