The State Bank of the Russian Empire ( Russian Государственный банк Российской Империи , Gossudarstwenny banking Rossiyskoy Imperii ), the Central Bank of the Russian Empire from 1860 to 1917. It is considered the predecessor of today's Central Bank of the Russian Federation Bank Rossii .
history
The state bank was opened on May 31st . / June 12, 1860 greg. founded. It emerged from the state commercial bank through ukase from Tsar Alexander II . This also defines the statutes of the bank, according to which the bank was state-owned and saw its purpose as short-term lending to trade and commerce.
The branch in Tehran also became famous for Iranian history and the Banque d'Escompte et des Prets de Perse .
Before and during the revolutions in Russia there were several bank robberies by left-wing revolutionaries, e. B. the attack on the Bank of Tbilisi in 1907.
At the beginning of 1917 the state bank had 11 branches (abroad), 133 permanent and 5 temporary offices and 42 agencies. On October 25th, Jul. / 7th November 1917 greg. the state bank was dissolved. Successors were the Volksbank of the RSFSR until 1922, then the Gosbank of the Soviet Union (until 1991). After the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, a new central bank of the Russian Federation was created, Bank Rossii (i.e. Bank of Russia).
