State Prize for Design, Art and Craft

The State Prize for Arts and Crafts is an award for arts and crafts in Baden-Württemberg that has been awarded by the state government of Baden-Württemberg since 1953 .

Award

In the first few years the award took place annually, since 1968 every two years. An expert jury nominates admitted participants and awards the state prize. The endowment is 12,000 euros (as of 2018) and can be awarded to up to three recipients of equal rank. The prize is awarded alternately in cities in Baden-Württemberg. The expert jury consists of 7 jurors, including 2 representatives of the organizers. The patronage is the Prime Minister of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
