State symbols of Italy
The state symbols of Italy are supposed to symbolize the Italian Republic . They include:
- the tricolor of the flag of Italy with the colors green, white and red
- the national coat of arms , consisting of the Stella d'Italia , behind a cog, surrounded by oak and olive branches and the red coat of arms REPVBBLICA ITALIANA
- the national anthem Il Canto degli Italiani ("Fratelli d'Italia")
- the standard of the President
- the National Monument Monumento a Vittorio Emanuele II in Rome
Furthermore, the following objects and signs are associated as symbols of Italy abroad and by Italians themselves:
- the national color of Savoy blue
- the Stella d'Italia , a five-pointed star
- the national holiday Festa della Repubblica
- the aerobatic team of the Italian Air Force Frecce Tricolori
